There is a rhythm to the everyday while travelling, being a guest in the house of good friends: tea cooling beside the window, cats slipping in and out, a garden after the rain. Puzzled like pansies by passing strangers, I rewind our conversation again and again . . . In poems of just a few lines, "And Finally The Rain" captures what we take with us on our journeys, what we leave behind, and how this affects us: a slow and subtle change.
