English Missions: The Lantern Map

Can you open the Lantern House? Nia, Sam, Mina, Jo and their dog Biscuit help Mrs. Patel follow an old map, one clue at a time. Each of the twelve missions is a short adventure in English: a storeroom to check, a route to find, a market timetable, a train to catch, a picnic to plan.Every mission has four pages of tasks with an Agent Tip that explains the why, not just the rule, and a Did you know? fact. The tasks make children think: they decide which facts matter, compare, find the mistake and fix it. Then come the Mission Puzzles, with crosswords, word ladders and a chest code to crack, and a Mission Debrief that sums up what to remember. Two Agent Tests, at the start and at the end, show how much the child has learned. Agent Reviews and Puzzle Breaks bring the missions together, and the badge pages turn progress into a game. The full answer key explains every answer, so children can work on their own and parents can check. For children aged 7 to 10. Ten bonus worksheets in full color come with the book.
