God and the State

Mikhail Bakunin's "God and the State" remains a foundational text in anarchist thought, rigorously challenging conventional notions of authority and governance. This powerful work dissects the intertwined concepts of divine and state power, arguing for the inherent limitations and oppressive nature of both. Bakunin systematically dismantles justifications for hierarchical structures, examining the relationship between the individual, society, and the state. He explores the philosophical underpinnings of anarchism as a viable alternative, advocating for a society free from imposed authority and grounded in individual liberty and voluntary association. A cornerstone of political philosophy and a seminal contribution to social science, "God and the State" offers a timeless critique of power dynamics and a compelling vision of a stateless future. This meticulously prepared edition allows readers to engage directly with Bakunin's original arguments, preserving the integrity and impact of his groundbreaking work.
