Yuri Mamleev is the founder and acknowledged master of the genre of metaphysical realism. It is end-of-the-world literature that explores the black holes and abysses that open up in human souls. "Life is a mockery of heaven over earth," said the writer himself. In Mamleev's prose, mysticism is firmly intertwined with reality. The hero of the novel "The World and Laughter" disappears without a trace, leaving behind only a reflection in the mirror. Set out on a quest friends will face secret organizations, meet the living dead and human monsters. The unknowable and the unknowable laughs at the world and people, dream and reality merge into one.
