Private Viewing

Laurent Marchand has the best eye in New York - and the coldest gallery in Chelsea. Charlie has one name, no last name, and a wet painting he just dragged straight across Laurent's spotless floor. Laurent built his gallery, his reputation, and the whole armored version of himself on impeccable taste and wanting nothing he couldn't walk away from. Wanting things is how they catch you - he learned that a long time ago, in rooms he'd rather forget. He is far too disciplined to fall for a paint-splattered artist half his age. Charlie Vasquez has spent his whole life being told he's too much and not enough - too loud, too raw, no school, no name. Laurent is the first person who's ever seen his work exactly right, and, it turns out, the first man Charlie's ever wanted like this. Figuring that out is the easiest thing he's ever done. Getting Laurent to stop being noble about it won't be. There's a season-opening show on the line. A collector who'd love to buy Charlie clean, finished, and sanded smooth. And a whole art world ready to decide the best wall in the house was a favor - and that Laurent's famous eye has finally been compromised by his appetite. Choosing each other could cost them the only things either of them has ever built. The gallery's very quiet after dark. So are all of Laurent's excuses. He spent fifteen years learning to leave the thing he wanted on the desk. Charlie's about to teach him how to want it out loud. A steamy, age-gap, opposites-attract MM romcom with a grumpy French gallerist, a sunshine artist who cannot stop narrating, a guaranteed happy ending, and zero cheating or cliffhangers. Book 1 of City Hearts - standalone romantic comedies, one city and one impossible pairing at a time.
