Reflections. Alone with myself

"Reflections. Alone with yourself" are the personal records of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, made by him in the 70s of the new era. The emperor kept a diary where he reflected on the concepts of citizenship, duty, honor, conscience, loyalty and justice. On the pages of this extraordinary document, we observe the intense work of an individual in mastering the philosophy of the Stoics and in the practical development of the Stoic tradition. Thus, the diary of Marcus Aurelius is one of the first examples of literature on self-improvement in human history. That is why Marcus Aurelius' "Reflections. Alone with Yourself" has become one of the most popular monuments of world literature. The creativity of the ancient philosopher and leader of the empire attracts modern readers with wise reasoning, imagery and sometimes surprisingly relevant practical recommendations.
