My name is not important, Though I am the hamlet of which I speak. I will tell you what has happened here. It is something you will not like. Wales, 1625; while the English king is on his deathbed and his son is to be king, an unnamed hamlet is left untouched and left off the coast of the Irish Sea. Ffraid is a healer woman who can see ghosts and spirits as well as the living of an unnamed hamlet she calls home with her father, mam-gu (grandmother) and stepmother. At the beginning of the year, Ffraid watches another funeral from an upstairs window that brings the dark omens in the form of a corpse candle. When Ffraid's best friend dies, the loss tosses her adrift like the nets her father throws to the sea to gain their coin. Yet she must carry on with daily rural life. When an acquaintance swoops in, giving her a shoulder to cry on, so blooms their blossoming friendship blooms and brings with it something more.
