Scorsese on Filmmaking and Faith

When I make a film, people always say, 'So now you've finished the film, you're done with it.' And I always tell them, 'No, not really.' 'Do you ever watch your films again?' people ask me. No. I made them. I'm still making them. Martin Scorsese, in conversation with Father Antonio Spadaro, reflects on his lifelong relationship with faith, from his upbringing on the mean streets of Little Italy to filming Killers of the Flower Moon in Osage County, Oklahoma. Over a series of conversations from 2016 to 2023, Scorsese discusses grace and violence in his films, his fears and inspirations, his childhood and the path, via a seminary, that has led to his status now as one of the most important directors in the world.
