Sly Foxes

Welcome to the delightfully strange and wonderful world of foxes. Foxes are simply fascinating! They're clever hunters, adaptable survivors, and legendary tricksters. And they turn up in all kinds of places, both expected (the Arctic tundra, the English countryside) and unexpected (a London bus, German shoe stores, your driveway). Science and storytelling sometimes confirm and sometimes contradict everything we think we know about them. Foxes really are one of the animal kingdom's most intriguing puzzles. In Sly Foxes, celebrated author Dana Alison Levy investigates these curious canines through the diverse and varied lenses of science, folklore, and pop culture. Within its pages, you'll meet the different fox species and discover the habitats they call home. You'll learn about the surprising roles foxes have played in myths and folklore from around the world, from Korea to the Haudenosaunee. And you'll encounter familiar favorites, from classics like Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox to the unavoidable earworm "What Does the Fox Say?" Packed with fascinating facts, vibrant photos, and fun fox "tails," unbelievable but true stories about foxes around the world, Sly Foxes captures some of the magic and wonder we feel when we bear witness to these marvelous animals.
