The art of helping through conversation: Specific advice, ideas and instructions

When someone close to us is having a hard time, having difficulties in life, being stressed or depressed, the easiest thing we can do to help them is to talk to them. But how do we make sure that the conversation really helps? Ilse Sand, psychotherapist and bestselling author of With Love for Myself and Close to the Heart, tells us how to make frank, heartfelt conversation truly healing. She explains when to take the initiative and when - to be quiet and listen, what to ask and how to respond to the answers, why you should not become a shoulder to cry on and in what situations is appropriate straightforward, and in what - examples and analogies. The author will try to help you develop empathy and learn how to help others.
