The From Scratch Kitchen

"Bob's recipes are like his personality - warm and irresistible, full of curiosity and enthusiasm." Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall Fall in love with cooking from scratch again. In his highly anticipated debut cookbook, Yorkshire home cook Bob Dickinson gives us all a much-needed reminder that, amidst the chaos of modern life, food is something well worth putting a little extra love and care into. The From Scratch Kitchen takes you through more than 100 of Bob's most-loved recipes - the very ones he began with when he was learning to cook from scratch. He teaches you how to make familiar dishes that feel slightly more special, such as lasagne with hand-rolled pasta and lamb tagine with homemade flatbreads. He lets you in on the intricacies of from-scratch cooking you may have once shied away from - stretching and folding sourdough to perfection, making your own fresh butter and creating golden, flaky pastry every time. With a soft spot for puddings, Bob hands down some of his family's most treasured, nostalgic recipes, like sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce, lemon meringue pie and Bakewell tart. He encourages you to relish in the seasons with recipes for Easter hot cross buns, Christmas pudding and autumnal pumpkin pie, perfect for gathering and sharing around the holiday table. From gorgeous summer salads and one-pot-wonders, to dish-scraping desserts and homemade kitchen staples, in The From Scratch Kitchen you'll find all the recipes you need to live a from-scratch lifestyle in your own home, all year round. This is food that values care over convenience - and a timeless guide to creating a kitchen that becomes the heart of the home and feeds the soul, every day.
