THE SAHARA EVENT is a pulse-pounding archaeological thriller that asks the question-What if Plato lied to protect us? Maybe Atlantis didn't sink beneath the waves but was swallowed by the sand. The Sahara Event Frequently Asked Questions: What is The Sahara Event about? The book follows Eden Black from the Caribbean to Marrakesh and deep into the Mauritanian desert as she investigates an ancient source of power hidden beneath the Richat Structure - also known as the Eye of the Sahara. What is the object they're after in The Sahara Event? The central object is a crystal recovered from inside the Richat Structure. The crystal generates energy in ways modern science cannot explain and appears to contain information from a lost civilisation. The idea is inspired by real science around quartz crystal data storage, with researchers suggesting information stored in crystal could last for extraordinary lengths of time. Is The Sahara Event based on a true story? Eden's adventure is fiction, but the book is built around real places, real science, and genuine mysteries. The Richat Structure is a real geological formation in Mauritania, around forty kilometres across and visible from space. The book also draws on the Green Sahara, a real period when the Sahara was far wetter, with rivers, lakes, and abundant wildlife. Other real-world threads include buried river systems beneath the Sahara, the mathematical tilework of Ben Youssef Madrasa in Marrakesh, Penrose-style patterns, and Pomponius Mela's ancient reference to "Atlantae" on a Roman-era map. Who is Eden Black in The Sahara Event? The Sahara Event is one of Eden Black's most personal adventures. Long-running questions from earlier books begin to resolve here, including deeper mysteries about who Eden really is and the wider conspiracy surrounding her life. Where is The Sahara Event set? The Sahara Event moves from the Caribbean to Marrakesh, Morocco, then across the Atlas Mountains and into the Mauritanian desert. Marrakesh is central to the story, especially its ancient medina, hidden passages, and the Ben Youssef Madrasa, whose intricate tilework carries mathematical patterns that feel far ahead of their time. The Sahara Event is a fast-paced archaeological thriller about Atlantis, the Richat Structure, ancient power, lost civilisations, hidden knowledge, Marrakesh, and the Sahara. Is The Sahara Event clean or family-friendly? Yes. Like the rest of the Eden Black Archaeological Thriller Series, The Sahara Event contains action, danger, and suspense, but nothing gratuitously violent or explicit.
