The True Bastards

AN ADDICTIVELY READABLE - AND UNDENIABLY COOL - FANTASY MASTERWORK' Kirkus on The Grey Bastards Following The Grey Bastards comes book two in the Lot Lands series - The True Bastards. BACK IN THE SADDLE. Fetching was once the only female rider in the Lot Lands. Now she is the leader of her own hoof, a band of loyal half-orcs sworn to her command. But over a year has passed since the Claymaster's demise and the pitiless appetite of the Lots remains eager to consume everything she's struggled to protect. Her people are starving. Is the famine a harsh reality of life in the badlands or Crafty's vengeful sorcery at work? Either way, time is running out for the True Bastards. With Hispartha reasserting its claims on the Lots and her fellow hoofmasters pressuring the Bastards to disband, Fetch is tested to the breaking point by the burdens of leadership. Fortunately, she's no stranger to battling the world, greeting these new threats with the same boundless spite and ferocity that made her a mongrel chieftain. Yet sharp steel and a strong hog are useless when an old enemy finds a way to strike from beyond the grave . . . A standout adventure fantasy debut that's down, dirty and damn good fun - perfect for fans of Joe Abercombie, Mark Lawrence, Markus Heitz's Dwarves series and Stan Nicholl's Orcs series. Praise for The Grey Bastards: 'Flithy, charistmastic and frankly excellent' Mark Lawrence 'A gritty adventure with a fantastic, foul-mouthed voice . . .
