House of Forgotten Souls

Cemetery Boys meets K-Pop Demon Hunters in this thrilling YA fantasy about a lost spirit, a reaper, a shaman, and the one girl who can save them all. Seventeen-year-old Sujin knows a lost soul when she sees one. Her mother and grandmother are mudang: shamans who help wayward ghosts travel down the Samdocheon River to the underworld. But Sujin is a new soul, giving her the rare power to see the past lives of any spirit she touches - putting her at risk of becoming permanently trapped in someone else's memories. Because of this, her family refuse to let her interact with the spirits. Instead they hire another mudang, Rami, to fill the role that was meant to be Sujin's. But when Sujin finds the spirit of a teen boy named Daniel still tethered to his living body, she can't let him go to his death. With one touch, she's launched into his memories, including one of her missing father. To find him, and figure out why Daniel's spirit was disconnected from his body, Sujin teams up with Rami and a local reaper named Seon, who has been investigating the disappearances of ghosts in the area. As the four work to unravel the mystery, they discover that someone - or something - is devouring spirits before they can reach the Samdocheon River. And they'll need to find whatever it is before it strikes again. A heart-racing contemporary fantasy inspired by Korean mythology, House of Forgotten Souls is grounded in our world but will transport you into the next.
