Often, a person can make up their mind and escape confusion and doubt, making their decision without worrying about the consequences. But in matters of love and romance, the decision is never easy. When doubt takes hold of the lover, they are caught between a rock and a hard place; they cannot continue in a love in which they have little share, nor can they bear to part ways, and the fire of longing burns ever brighter, consuming their heart. The novel "Sarah," although the only work by the literary giant Al-Aqqad, masterfully portrays the psychological state of its protagonist with remarkable literary skill. In it, Al-Aqqad recounts one of his own painful emotional experiences, the bitter scar of which remained with him until the end of his life.
