Tempered by Flames

Ethan has spent his life hiding what he is. As a chimera shifter in a paranormal community that barely tolerates dragons, he's learned that the safest thing to do is keep people at arm's length. When a new firefighter walks into his tattoo shop, Ethan has every reason to be guarded. Liam expected to be the only dragon shifter on his team when he became a firefighter, but instead, he's the third. It's a relief when he realizes that Austin and West are friends rather than foes, but the three of them have to keep what they are a secret from their human team members. But not at the cost of human lives. When Liam has no choice but to expose himself, he's surprised when not only Austin and West stand up for him, but also Ethan. Maybe he can find a way into the chimera's heart, after all. That is, if the world doesn't burn down around him first.
