Tex (Council Assassins, #21)

Sometimes Fate places your mate in the place where you least expect him. Tex is happy with his role keeping the council assassins organized and out of trouble. But when a rogue demon network threatens the council's work to keep peace with humans, he's pulled back into action and asked to go undercover in Starhaven, an isolated demon community that's magically hidden from the world. He wasn't supposed to find his mate there. Nymon has spent his whole life in Starhaven, dreaming of the world beyond the shield. When a mysterious shifter suddenly appears, Nymon's peaceful-and boring-life unravels. Tex faces an impossible choice. He was sent to Starhaven to spy on the demon network, but he can't help but be distracted by Nymon's presence. Nymon's choice is simpler but terrifying-can he trust this stranger with his heart and leave the only life he's ever known? There's no way for Tex to stay in Starhaven, but Nymon doesn't have anything beyond the shield except for his mate. Will that be enough to get him to leave Starhaven?
