The Map of Morrow Point

Six cliffside plots appear on a map that should not contain them—and the surveyor who questions them is found dead. Surveyor Martin Penrose comes to examine a cliffside development above Penmorrow. By Friday morning, he lies dead inside the plan hut at Morrow Point. A cropped map hints at an old wartime secret, while the developer insists every signature and payment is in order. Yet six buyers have paid to reserve land the developer may not possess. Hotel owner Edmund Trewin and his niece Katherine compare maps, correspondence and the movements recorded at the Bay Hotel. Retired Colonel Samuel Carew helps them test whether the supposed military mystery has any substance, while a pierced tracing and an altered journey expose holes in several confident accounts. Someone turned a property fraud into a story about the past. To find the killer, Edmund and Katherine must discover who changed the map—and who could not afford to let Martin reveal the truth.
