Udhayabanu Maamazhai

1001 CE. Chōḷa General Maḷapāḍiyar journeys to Tiruviḍaimarudūr, determined to uncover clues about the treacherous, premeditated murder of Crown Prince Āditya Karikāla-an event that occurred decades ago. He hopes these long-buried secrets will shed light on the recent attempt on King Rājarāja Chōḷa's life. Meanwhile, in Thanjāvūr, his childhood love Mathura resolves to travel to Thirunārayūr to meet Saint Nambiyāṇdar Nambi, the enigmatic figure who has blessed her during pivotal moments in her life. Far away in the Chēra country, deep in the Thenmala hills, Ācharya Achudhan Nambūdiri reflects on the failed assassination attempt on the Chōḷa king. Despite the intricate planning behind the attack, its failure leaves him perplexed. When Malayanūran joins him, their shared grief and thirst for vengeance reignite their determination to strike back against those who have wronged them. What secrets will Maḷapāḍiyar unearth at Tiruviḍaimarudūr? Why did Saint Nambi summon Mathura to his native village? How are the assassins connected to the Chēra Chief of Staff, Paḍamēl Nāir? And why is Chōḷa commander Rājarāja Mārāyar making a personal visit to the home of dramatist Vijayarāja Ācharya?
